Ending Gun Violence Starts With You.

THE ARAMIS PETERSON FOUNDATION STORY

In January 2017, Aramis Peterson, 27, was shot and killed by senseless gun violence in Atlanta, GA. His mother, Phyllis Peterson, has since become a vocal Social Justice and Gun Violence Advocate. Phyllis not only advocates for her son Aramis, but she is also an advocate for all mothers who feel voiceless in the wake of losing their children to gun violence.

Since Aramis’ death, Phyllis Peterson founded The Aramis Peterson Foundation in her son’s name to honor his memory and has been dedicated to helping other mothers who are experiencing grief from their traumatic losses.

Under Phyllis’ passionate leadership and guidance, The Aramis Peterson Foundation continues to help numerous families by providing counseling resources, advising on navigating the legal system and seeking justice, and most often, just being compassionate by lending a listening ear.

OUR MISSION TO END GUN VIOLENCE

With transparency and commitment, The Aramis Peterson Foundation, our team, volunteers, and avid supporters are working tirelessly to reduce the number of children who are hurt or killed by guns.

Through organizing and activism, The Aramis Peterson Foundation aims to reduce the negative impact of gun violence, prevent the vicious cycle of releasing violent offenders back into our communities, and promote gun control through advocacy and legal system reform.

Unfortunately, every year the number of gun violence victims grow and that means there are more mothers and families in need of our emotional and charitable support.
